Destroying Methane, Turning Back the Climate Clock

Gigatons of excess methane are driving a third of current global warming. Bennu’s technology removes it from the atmosphere. Permanently.

Even if we end all human-induced methane emissions today, what’s already there will keep warming the planet for decades.

Even a century after it is emitted, methane’s impact is still 30X as potent as carbon dioxide.

Bennu’s technology leverages a natural photochemical process to permanently remove methane molecules from the atmosphere.

Companies and governments can use Bennu technology to directly mitigate their own methane emissions or buy verified, permanent carbon credits to offset their global carbon emissions.

Giving Nature a Boost

When the sun’s UV light reacts with ozone and methane in the stratosphere, the molecules transform into carbon dioxide and water, both of which are significantly less harmful to the climate. This occurs naturally, every day, around the world. Our technology can leverage this process lower in the atmosphere, where most of the methane is, nearly anywhere on Earth.

Global and Scalable Deployment

Bennu’s technology can be deployed and scaled anywhere and turned on and off instantly, making it a methane reduction solution for multiple industries, from shipping to energy to waste management. In 2024, we are testing the technology on a Lomar ocean vessels along existing shipping routes.

Low Risk,
High Reward

Among the many strategies society should examine to address the threat of climate change, Bennu’s technology is simple, affordable and scalable. It’s the perfect low-risk, high-reward complement to global efforts to reduce methane emissions at their source.

Climate and
Communities First

Bennu was founded by scientists who, first and foremost, are committed to addressing the climate crisis. We’re not looking for quick fixes or silver-bullet solutions. And we won’t create new environmental threats while solving others. That’s why we’re carefully testing our technology and sharing our findings.
