More than 80,000 cargo ships transport goods around the world today. These remote ocean environments make them perfect for removing ambient methane, as well as addressing the needs of ships that may leak methane themselves. The exploration, production and distribution of oil and natural gas produces significant methane emissions and has become a focal point of global efforts to reduce methane emissions at their source. Bennu technology can complement reduction efforts by removing methane at known emission sources.

Food scraps, yard trimmings, and other organic matter create methane as they decompose. Many landfills install equipment to capture methane for sale as an energy source, but it can’t always capture it all. Bennu technology can be installed at landfills to remove methane that capture equipment misses.
