Humanity First.
Bennu was founded by scientists committed to addressing the existential threat of climate change. That commitment extends beyond emission reduction into broader environmental and community stewardship.
We cannot, and will not, create new human and environmental risks as we work to stabilize the climate.
Human and Environmental Impact Assessment
There's no point in a "fix" that ultimately harms humanity. Bennu is committed not just to developing and deploying technology, but to doing so within the appropriate regulations and in engagement with people who may be affected, or may feel they are affected, by our work. We began working with regulators and potential frontline communities from the very beginning of our research in methane removal approaches.
The Bennu Team
Collectively, the Bennu team brings more than 70 years of experience founding and running science-based startups in Silicon Valley and around the world, with individual experience in chemistry, software engineering, anthropology, supply chain and manufacturing, regulation, sales, and management.
David Henkel-Wallace

Chief Scientist
Responsible Science
Our team has been investigating methane elimination technology in the lab for years, and we’re excited to pilot our technology on Lomar shipping vessels through 2024. During our pilot, we’ll measure more than methane reductions. We’re committed to examining all potential environmental and community impacts and sharing our findings with climate, methane and community stakeholders.
